American artist Georgia O’Keeffe was intrinsically linked to the rocky desertscape of New Mexico. The land and its people greatly informed both her art and her lifestyle.

From 1949, until her death in 1984, O’Keeffe choose to live between two masterfully simple adobe homes, Ghost Ranch and Abiquiú. To this day they both still stand, preserved by the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and made accessible to the public.

I recently wrote about my visit to ABIQUIÚ for My Chameleon, you can read it HERE.
